The parent company Buffet Inc. was opened in 1983. It was created by a restaurant veteran. This veteran was known as Hatlen. He had experience working for the company King’s Table, Inc.
Hatlen teamed up with an old friend from King’s Table. He was known as C. Dennis Scott. Togethoer, the duo planned out and created new and amazing franchises. Eventually they began to open a franchise. From this idea was born the very franchise of this corporation, Old Country Buffet. This chain began in March of 1984.
The first restaurant had only 29 employees. Even more interesting, it was located on a strip mall on the outskirts of the city Minneapolis. It was decided that all meals would include dessert.
